Earlier today, multiple Russian missiles struck several cities in Ukraine, destroying apartment buildings, hospitals and factories. Over 150 people have reportedly been killed or injured, and the number of children impacted is still unknown.
Okhmatdyt Hospital, Ukraine’s largest medical center for children, has been severely damaged. Hospitals should be safe havens. Civilians, including children and medical facilities they depend on, must always be protected.
UNICEF is on the front lines responding to immediate needs, providing emergency supplies to Okhmatdyt Hospital and standing ready to assist communities affected by today’s attacks. If you’re able to give, your support will help UNICEF’s continued response for children in crisis.
Nearly three years after it began, the war in Ukraine continues to put children and families at risk. No child should live under constant threat of bombardment or feel unsafe receiving treatment at a hospital.
UNICEF will continue to show up and help children in need, wherever they are.
