First and foremost, I hope that you and your families are staying safe and healthy as we continue to fight COVID-19. I know that the past several weeks have been difficult due to the virus itself, social distancing, and the many economic consequences we have been faced with.
While we have to continue to be mindful of the serious and ongoing threat of COVID-19, we also have to start planning on getting people back to work. Keeping businesses closed when they are capable of safely re-opening is wrong and will continue to devastate the economy.
In case you missed it, I wrote an op-ed with Minnesota Senate Minority Leader Paul Gazelka for the Star Tribune asking Governor Walz to allow Minnesotans to safely get back to work as soon as possible.
I have every confidence that we are able and willing to protect others from COVID-19 while simultaneously resuming our economic livelihoods. If anyone is up for the challenge, it’s Minnesota!
