January 6th was a threat to the Constitution in an attempt to put Donald Trump back in the White House after losing an election. It was a plot to overthrow our government, plain and simple.

That’s not a small thing to say. There is a clear and present danger to our freedom in this country today.

And I hear it over and over when I talk to folks at home, they’re worried about the future of American democracy – I am too.

That's why I stepped up to run for Congress. Whether serving this country in uniform or working as a lawyer to protect our elections, my life has been about fighting for American democracy. And I took the fight to Washington.
