Dear John,

We’re still cleaning up the glitter from an incredible Pride Month! Along with our partners and state-based organizers, we reached thousands of voters in person and online with the important message of how LGBTQIA+ voters can be ready and confident to #VoteWithPride. [[link removed]]
I want to spotlight one of our amazing and inspiring partnerships: Drag Out The Vote.

Drag Out The Vote’s mission is to use the artistry of drag to increase participation in our democracy. Drag Out the Vote believes democracy works best when everybody is involved in the process – which makes them a great partner to VoteRiders because we agree!

We worked closely with Drag Out The Vote’s Drag Ambassadors to share social media content that helps their LGBTQIA+ audiences learn about what ID they need to vote and how VoteRiders can help them get an ID, especially if they need one that reflects their preferred name and gender marker.

“The vast majority of these voter ID requirements aren’t about security at the ballot box – they’re about blocking voters from accessing it,” Drag Out The Vote’s Executive Director Christopher Diaz told us. “They harm people who are already underrepresented in our electorate.”

VoteRiders works with hundreds of partners every day in underserved communities across the country. Together, we are working to ensure that everyone feels confident when they go to the polls.
