Your donations are making 2024 a historic year in our conservation work, with new ships, new campaigns, and new species being protected thanks to the entirely donation-driven work done by our captains and crews every day.
This month, we are excited to share that the Ruth Stanton Foundation and an anonymous donor are matching every gift up to $150k. Our Matching Gift Challenge runs through July 31 and we hope you will join William Shatner and others to take advantage of this opportunity to have MORE impact on endangered marine wildlife.
And what can $150,000 do? You have seen our net-pulling VIDEOS where our crews remove these deadly, abandoned nets that can kill for months or years indiscriminately. Currently, our ship the Seahorse can pull nets up to a ton of discarded nets, but later this summer we will be installing a new crane that will triple our net pulling capacity up to 3 tons. That new crane and its installation will cost $150,000, and it will allow us to triple a proven, effective model for ocean protection.
The newly launched Bob Barker is in the very earliest steps of a new campaign to protect one of the largest coral reefs in the entire Western Hemisphere, and $150,000 can help jumpstart that campaign as we assess the threats to the reef and its inhabitants, then build the right protection protocols for its long term sustainability and survival.
