Our campaign has sent a lot of fundraising emails lately — more than I wish we had to send. So I wanted to take a moment to explain what these messages mean to our campaign, and why you're seeing more of them from us than usual. In just a few days, we close the books on an official FEC fundraising deadline for our campaign for Senate. Because of Michigan's early August primary, we're legally required to report our numbers from this reporting period, which ends July 17th. When it ends, we report how much money we've raised and those results will be looked at with a fine-tooth comb by the press, our opponents and even potential allies. What we report is widely viewed as an indicator of our campaign's strength. The numbers have the ability to invite attacks if opponents think we are weak, or encourage our allies to do more to help us win if they are strong. But the numbers we want to reach are also very real goals. They are numbers we need to reach in order to win. So when you see us rising in the polls, when you see our ads playing on TV, and when you see us WIN this race and hopefully hold the Senate, please know emails like this and the response to them are a huge part of how it happens. Can you please use this link to split a donation of $10 (or more if you can) between Sharice Davids and my campaign for U.S. Senate in Michigan? I would not ask if these emails and the response to them were not so important to our campaign. If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:
Thank you for your support, and for bearing with these emails. They are so important. Elissa |
