Dear John The last six weeks have been pivotal for the UK. As we face challenges like the rising cost of living, environmental issues, and immense pressure on our NHS, many feel a sense of decline and isolation. Hate is on the rise and this election has revealed the culprits. Those that try to divide communities, scapegoat and demonise immigrants and threaten or intimidate people for having different views. Those that undermine progress, disrupt cohesion and turn neighbours against each other. We have a history of resilience and unity, from standing against fascism in WWII to coming together during the COVID-19 pandemic. We cannot allow the forces of hate to go unchecked and we must remember that hope is more than just a word, it’s an action.
