It's Shark Week, John!
Discovery is partnering with WWF for this year's Shark Week, and programs highlight facts about these fascinating animals, threats they face, and how we can help conserve them.
Today, we want to dispel a few myths about this mysterious species in our ocean's depths.
Have you seen stories or media that paint sharks as violent or dangerous? Did you know that, more often than not, sharks are actually the victims? Learn more about sharks and find out: Are all sharks big with sharp teeth?
Find out 5 shark myths ►
Sharks are a critical part of the marine environment and must be protected. We've made some great progress, but our work continues as many other shark species still remain unprotected and heavily exploited.
Thank you so much for your support. With you by our side, we'll make waves for marine life and oceans alike.
Yours in conservation,
Jessica
