As you are aware, November's election is critically important. Ensuring the security of our elections and restoring faith in the results is essential, as is guaranteeing that those who take office truly have the consent of the governed.

The current administration has implemented numerous policies that undermine election security, and at the same time, they continue their attacks on our Supreme Court. These policies and attacks include opening our borders, mandating federal agencies to register everyone who interacts with them, neglecting to ensure that those registering to vote are indeed citizens, and chipping away at the integrity of the highest court in the land.

To counter these threats and secure the integrity of our elections for 2024 and beyond, Republicans in Congress are championing Congressman Chip Roy’s bill, the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, HB 8281. This bill mandates proof of citizenship at the time of voter registration, addressing a critical gap in the law. A recent study by Just Facts reveals that approximately 10% to 27% of noncitizen adults in the U.S. are currently registered to vote illegally. Furthermore, 87% of Americans agree that only citizens should be registering to vote.

The SAVE Act will be in the Rules Committee today and will come to the floor for a vote on Wednesday. This is an all-hands-on-deck issue! Democrats are telling their members to vote no, but if they are bombarded with calls from constituents, some of them may feel they have to vote yes. If the SAVE Act passes with bipartisan support, it is more likely to have momentum going into the Senate!
