In the aftermath of flooding in Kenya, things have gone from bad to worse.
The government has ordered forced evictions to those living near flood-prone areas. It’s an effort to avoid destruction from flooding in the future. But the timing is awful.
We have been fundraising to support affected families in Mathare through our partner the Young Women's Leadership Institute. They have been busy providing emergency support there since the flash flooding occurred.
A huge thank you to those who have already supported our emergency flood relief appeal. Together we have raised £8,900. 100% of which will be distributed to partners providing relief across Kenya as soon as possible.
It is clear that affected families will only be supported by efforts from within the community. Our partner organisations have been providing clothing, food, school materials, and much more to those who have lost everything. But they are overwhelmed with requests for support.
Can you help us raise just £1,100 more to reach £10,000? 100% of your donation will directly support relief efforts in Kenya.
When the media is awash with global crises, your solidarity with our partners in Kenya is particularly appreciated. It is providing strength and solace at this testing time
With best wishes,
