** Waymo Contributes $100,000 To AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund
------------------------------------------------------------
PHOENIX — Governor Doug Ducey today announced that Waymo has contributed $100,000 to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund, providing support to organizations working to mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
“Every donation to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund will go to help those most in need — whether it’s our doctors and nurses caring for patients or families and individuals now facing economic hardship,” said Governor Ducey. “The support of Arizona’s private-sector and nonprofit partners is more important than ever, and I’m grateful to Waymo for stepping up and leading by example."
“Arizona is a home to Waymo and, during this difficult time, we’re committed to helping protect and support local health care workers and food banks providing vital services to our communities,” Waymo CEO John Krafcik. “Waymo is proud to support Governor Ducey’s Arizona Together effort to ensure Arizonans emerge safely from this pandemic.”
Governor Ducey established the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund last month to help nonprofit organizations that support vulnerable Arizonans, provide personal protective equipment (PPE) to our medical professionals, expand technology access for students while schools are closed and more.
The Ben and Catherine Ivy Foundation earlier this month donated $5 million ([link removed]) to the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund. Additionally, the Arizona Cardinals and Chairman and President Michael Bidwill donated $1 million ([link removed]) , Arizona Public Service (APS) donated $250,000 ([link removed]) , Southwest Gas donated $65,000 ([link removed]) and Blue Cross Blue Shield donated $50,000 ([link removed]) . To date, the fund has collected more than $6 million.
