Two weeks ago, I signed our Fiscal Year 2025 budget into law! This is a plan that invests in the future of our state, our economy, and — most importantly — our families. Here are some of the highlights:

Another year of record-breaking property tax relief. Nearly half of the entire budget is going straight back to our state’s working- and middle-class families. 

The single-largest investment into education in our state’s history. For the first time ever, we are fully funding our state’s school funding formula.

A brand-new funding stream for NJ TRANSIT. This funding will help make NJ Transit more reliable, more dependable, and more accessible for working New Jerseyans.

We’re making a full payment into our pension system. For the fourth straight year, we have committed a payment of at least 100% of the Actuarially Determined Contribution — securing our workers’ futures. 

…All while maintaining a healthy surplus. 

By promoting fairness and fiscal responsibility, we are working to make sure we hand our children a state that is better than we found it. A New Jersey that is the best place to live, work, settle down, and retire.
