This summit welcomes a broad range of speakers, panelists and attendees representing the United States and several Middle Eastern and North African countries, including medical providers, public health professionals, academics and scholars, epidemiologists, policymakers and mental health professionals, among others.

Keynote Spotlight

Dr. Rima Afifi, Department of Community and Behavioral Health professor at the University of Iowa and Director of the Prevention Research Center for Rural Health, is a renowned expert in public health education, research, and practice. With a focus on advancing health equity and social justice, her work spans mental health, refugee and immigrant well-being, and substance use, emphasizing Community-Based Participatory Research and implementation science. Passionate about creating supportive environments for adolescents and young adults, Dr. Afifi is particularly dedicated to addressing challenges in contexts of uncertainty, displacement, and migration.
