We know this is an unprecedented and difficult moment for many families, so please only pitch in if you can afford to give. It’s more important for you to take care of yourself and your loved ones in this emergency.
Happy 4/20, folks.
On this day, millions of people will celebrate cannabis. But all I can think of is how our country’s policies, rooted in systemic racism, have disproportionately locked up communities of color for centuries.
For too long, communities of color have borne the brunt of the failed War on Drugs. In 2016 alone, more people were arrested for marijuana than ALL violent crimes combined. There’s no making nice: marijuana prohibition has fueled mass incarceration and enough is enough.
My Marijuana Justice Act would reform our discriminatory marijuana laws and provide restorative justice to communities of color by ensuring that profits from the legal cannabis industry are returned to the communities that have been hurt the most.
If you want to see our nation’s marijuana laws changed for the better, chip in $4.20 today to help advance our fight for justice. Anything you can give will keep me fighting for progressive reforms in the House.

As the first woman and African American co-chair of the Congressional Cannabis Caucus, I know that marijuana reform is criminal justice reform. And I’m committed like never before to end our nation’s outdated and discriminatory marijuana laws.
In solidarity,
Barbara Lee
