Michigan and Wisconsin have a lot in common. We both have economies built on the manufacturing industry, a respect for our natural resources and our Great Lakes — and of course, we both make some pretty good beer.

Another thing we have in common? Donald Trump won both of our states in 2016. That means the GOP has their eyes on the Senate race in Michigan, which is why I’m asking you to consider donating to my friend, Senator Gary Peters, who is up for re-election.

Gary and I have worked for years together to fight for quality, affordable health care in the Senate and now he’s facing a tough re-election campaign where Trump and Republicans will spend whatever it takes to replace him with another lapdog Senator.

In fact, Trump outright endorsed his opponent on Twitter:

Big-money Republicans like Mitch McConnell and his ilk are funneling millions into John James’ campaign. He even outraised Gary for the third quarter in a row!

To make matters worse, polling shows Gary is statistically TIED with his right-wing opponent.

Look, if we don’t defend Michigan’s Democratic Senate seat, Democrats will have no chance at taking back the Senate. Even Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight says that if Republicans can win in Michigan this November, they can keep control of the Senate.

Your contribution could be the difference for Gary because in Michigan, just like in Wisconsin, grassroots donations can go a long way. We proved that in 2018. Let’s do it again.
