Meet Woodson Bradley (NC Senate 42)

Woodson Bradley is a mom, wife, business owner, community leader, and tireless volunteer. Raised by a public school teacher and social worker, Woodson has dedicated her life to public service. As a domestic violence survivor, Woodson has advocated for families, children, and teens across NC and currently speaks for the Mecklenburg County Domestic Violence Speakers Bureau. As a small business owner, she wants to ensure that Charlotte is a place that has opportunities for all. If Democrats are going to break the dangerous Republican supermajority in NC, Woodson must be elected in November.

NORTH CAROLINA IS IMPORTANT!

In 2022, the GOP created new legislative districts to safeguard their far-right agenda. By flipping just one seat in the North Carolina General Assembly, we can break the GOP’s dangerous supermajority and make Democratic inroads in this battleground state.

Woodson Bradley's race is a must-win if we hope to flip a seat in the NC State Senate to break GOP control.

WHAT CAN YOU  DO RIGHT NOW?

  1. Invest in Woodson!  Your donation will help Woodson hire top talent and build a winning campaign. GOP candidates are often funded by just a few big donors, so let’s show her some grassroots love!
  2. Sign up for a phonebank! We're making calls in Woodson's district every Wednesday at 6:30 pm, and hope you will join us!
  3. Get others involved! Invite your friends to phonebank and postcard with us, and share the donation link below. Follow our candidates on social media. Find everything you need to spread the word on our candidate pages.

The Blitz is On!

Our fundraising blitz for Woodson Bradley starts Monday, July 29 at 12:01 AM!

We're Phonebanking for Woodson Bradley and Anna Thomas

Reeling from the news? Channel your anxiety and frustration into concrete action for democracy and join us in making calls to voters in Pennsylvania and North Carolina. It's online, it's easy, it's therapeutic! Come be among friendly people who share your concerns and are taking positive action.

Sign up today to phonebank for both of our candidates on Wednesdays, 6:30-8 pm ET!

Why phonebank? The data proves it: phonebanking is THE BEST volunteering option for remote voter contact. We identify supporters and let them know why their vote matters, speak with undecided voters, and recruit local volunteers.

Each Zoom phonebank includes training and check-ins for first-timers (experienced callers can jump right in). We'll share successes and address questions throughout the session, all while contacting voters in crucial state legislative races. Our veteran phonebank leaders will help you get comfortable, increase your effectiveness, and make sure you have a great experience.

Can't make July 10?  There are plenty of other options to participate!  Sign up for one or more phonebanks below!

Interested in Postcarding?

We hope you will join us in writing postcards to voters!  If you would like to participate in this important effort, contact Allison at 703-597-9840 and she will send you postcards, stamps, script, and a return envelope.

Get Involved!
Join Our New Monthly Meetings

Please join us for our new monthly meetings.  The Zoom meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month starting at 6:30 pm ET, and last for approximately 45 minutes.

If you're new to Sister District DC Metro Area, this meeting will provide you with an introduction to our community. Meet fellow volunteers, learn what we're up to, see how you can take action with us, hear from special guests, and more.

We are pleased to welcome Nicole Zambrano, Sister District's Senior Organizing Manager, as guest speaker for our July 9 meeting.  She will talk about why she joined Sister District, what it's like to organize our group, and the kind of impact our work has on a both a small and large scale.

We hope you will be able to join us!

Join us on August 7
for a Conversation with Ari Berman!

We’re teaming up with Sister District National for a virtual conversation with voting rights journalist and author Ari Berman about his new book Minority Rule: The Right-Wing Attack on the Will of the People — And the Fight to Resist It. The book is a riveting account of the decades-long effort by reactionary white conservatives to undermine democracy and entrench their power—and the movement to stop them.

The conversation will be moderated by Gaby Goldstein, Co-Founder of Sister District National. There will be ample time for audience Q&A.

We’re excited to partner with Sister District National to engage our community in a conversation about the themes in the book, and how important it is for us to rally the collective troops to vote this year, all the way down the ballot.

Sister District DC Metro Area is thrilled to announce that we will be holding a live fundraiser for Anna Thomas (PA House 137) in conjunction with the Woman's National Democratic Club  on Thursday, September 5.  Watch this space for details!
