Following the first of two scrutiny weeks in parliament, the New Zealand First team was back out and about last week, from local community engagements through to international travel.

Party leader, Rt Hon Winston Peters and Pukekohe based MP, Hon Casey Costello spent the week on Ministerial business acrossthe Solomon Islands, Nauru and Niue. With a focus on strengthening economic resilience and education, there were plenty of highlights for the New Zealand contingent to enjoy. You can find full updates on the Foreign Affairs Minister’s X page <[link removed]>.

On home shores, Mark Patterson was Wellington-based for a few extra days, attending the Federated Farmers Primary Industry Conference. There was an emphasis on getting rid of the regulatory burden on our rural sector and doubling New Zealand’s exports in the next decade. Mark wrapped up day two on stage as part of a panel discussing the future of strong wool in New Zealand.

Blenheim-based MP Jamie Arbuckle travelled further up the country to spend time in the winterless North. He met with local councillors, businesses and community groups, talking all things Northland, focussing on the environment and tourism – easy to do in such a beautiful part of New Zealand that has so much to offer.

Our very own Northland-based MP, Hon Shane Jones continues to shine a light on regional development, resources and energy. Hear from him directly on these recent clips:

- Shane Jones: I will not let Kiwis be guilt tripped by assertions from the Green Politburo <[link removed]>
- Shane Jones: Who said Māori blood is morally superior? Only the empty barren minds pushing apartheid <[link removed]>
- Shane Jones: We want a strong economy and won’t acquiesce to ideology that wants deindustrialization <[link removed]>
