Olympic View Transfer Station temporarily closed to public on Monday, July 8 due to garbage compactor outage
Olympic View Transfer Station will be closed to the public on Monday, July 8 due to an unplanned outage of the garbage compactor.?
However, the transfer station's outdoor recycling yard will remain open, as this area doesn't rely on the compactor.
Although we expect to resume facility operations on Tuesday, July 9, this could change if repairs are not successful. We?ll continue to provide updates as the situation changes, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. You can find updates at:

Please postpone visits to Recycling and Garbage Facilities
Until the compactor is repaired, we ask that you please continue to postpone your visits to the Recycling and Garbage Facilities in Silverdale, Hansville, and Olalla. Garbage collected at these smaller facilities is transported to Olympic View Transfer Station, which is currently near capacity.
The Recycling and Garbage Facilities currently remain open on a normal schedule, but customers may be turned away when capacity is reached.
The Household Hazardous Waste Facility is not affected by this outage.
?
Collection services shouldn't be impacted
We do not expect any service interruptions to the waste collection services provided by WM, Bainbridge Disposal, and the City of Poulsbo.?
?
Mason and Pierce County residents
Mason County residents should use the garbage disposal facility in Belfair, and Pierce County residents should use Purdy Transfer Station.?
