There’s a critical primary election happening on July 30 that could reshape Arizona's future and set a powerful precedent for climate action nationwide.

John,

On July 30th, Arizona will face a pivotal primary election that could change everything. This primary is the first hurdle to clear on our path to electing a pro-climate majority to the state legislature in November, but we need your help to make it happen!

Arizona is at the forefront of the climate crisis. With its unique environmental challenges, such as severe water shortages and extreme heat, the policies implemented here set a precedent for other states that face similar issues. This election is a chance to show the country that bold climate action is both necessary and possible.

For too long, the Republican majority neglected Arizona's growing water crisis and allowed corporate polluters to thrive. They’ve used their power to pass numerous anti-climate bills, including making it illegal to monitor greenhouse gas emissions. All the while, Arizonans have been forced to watch as their water was sold to foreign entities and essential environmental protections were stripped away piece by piece.

Electing a pro-climate majority to the Arizona state legislature means we can take significant steps to undo years of harmful policies and move toward a sustainable future not just for Arizona, but as a model for the rest of the nation.

With Governor Katie Hobbs in office and the entire legislature up for grabs, we have a golden opportunity to win a critical legislative trifecta. Republicans currently hold a razor-thin, one-vote majority in both chambers. Just two seats! That’s all we need to flip to gain the majority.

Jane PAC has proudly endorsed 11 climate champions for the State House and Senate who will hold corporate polluters accountable and undo the years of damage caused by the Republican legislature.

Today, we want to highlight two candidates who are facing competitive primary races on July 30th and need our immediate support:

🌍 Analise Ortiz, LD24 Senate

Analise is running for State Senate with a focus on delivering results and prioritizing community needs over corporate interests. She is devoted to fighting for a just transition and cleaning up a Superfund site that threatens the health of the people in her district. Analise’s dedication to environmental justice and community health makes her an indispensable ally in our fight for a sustainable future.

🌍 Oscar De Los Santos, LD11 House

A child of immigrants, a teacher, and a fighter for the working class, Oscar has dedicated his life to public service and progressive values. Elected to the House in 2022, Oscar serves as the Assistant Democratic Leader, the second-highest ranking Democrat in the chamber. He has taken on corporate corruption and championed clean air, clean water, and environmental justice. Now, Oscar is running for re-election to continue representing LD11 and to keep fighting for frontline communities.

These climate champions need our support to win their primaries on July 30th, and grassroots support could make or break their chances. Click here to split a $9 donation between their campaigns and the Jane Fonda Climate PAC today!
