Friends,

The scenes were abhorrent – far-right settlers shredding open bags of
flour, smashing boxes of food and torching produce en route to starving
families in Gaza.

These extremist attacks on trucks delivering lifesaving aid were cruel and
outrageous, demanding a courageous response.

The call was answered by Alon-Lee Green and Rula Daood, co-directors of
Standing Together, who rallied their movement to form a protective guard
to “resist terror, defeat the forces of starvation and protect the aid
trucks.”

They took on the extremists, and they won.

future of Israel’s peace movement and their inspiring vision for the
future.

As too many in the region retreat to the dark corners of dehumanization,
Standing Together has chosen the path of empathy, coexistence and justice
for all, Israeli and Palestinian.

In the wake of October 7, Standing Together has grown into Israel’s
leading coexistence political organizing movement. With thousands of
official members, the group picks up more and more supporters each week
marching through the streets of Israel to call for the release of all
hostages, an end to the devastation in Gaza and a political horizon that
sees an end to the occupation.

Not only have Rula and Alon-Lee outlined a better vision for the future,
they’ve offered direct action to get us there – whether ensuring aid
reaches Palestinians in Gaza, paying solidarity visits to the loved ones
of hostages, or preparing relief packages for families across Israel.

We’ve watched in admiration as Standing Together has done the powerful
work of bringing people together in times of deep anguish and pain, and I
look forward to sitting down with Rula and Alon-Lee on Tuesday to discuss
more about their efforts on the ground.
