Team, Last week, the right-wing majority on the Supreme Court granted Donald Trump “absolute immunity” from prosecution for “official acts.” It is a disastrous decision that has upended a core tenant of American democracy — that no one is above the law. As Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote in her dissent: “In every use of official power, the President is now a king above the law.” We all know Donald Trump is only in this for himself. And this ruling also means that if he wins in November, he’d be able to abuse his presidential power — without any meaningful legal restraints. Pat believes that in America, no one is above the law, not even a former President. But his GOP opponent Alison Esposito and her backers are 100% devoted to Trump.
Despite Trump constantly violating democratic norms, earning multiple felony convictions, and inciting an insurrection, Pat’s opponent Alison Esposito and House GOP Chair Elise Stefanik have chosen to stick with him. They’re just just as dangerous as Trump because they fully enable him — despite him saying he’ll be a dictator “on day one” — all to gain greater power for themselves. Elise Stefanik has been aggressively loyal to Trump, earning her spot on Trump’s list of potential VP picks by calling the outrageous decision “a historic victory.” And Alison herself was endorsed by Trump for her “100% commitment” to his extremist agenda. Elise and MAGA Republicans are doing (and spending) everything they can to defeat Pat and retake the House majority — because Pat is fighting to hold Trump accountable, defend our democracy, and stand up for our fundamental freedoms.
