We just got new polling on the race for U.S. Senate here in Michigan, and I wanted to make sure you saw it. Bottom line: We are in a statistical dead-heat against one of the leading Republicans, Mike Rogers — with a ton of Michigan swing voters still undecided.

Elissa Slotkin: 44%
Mike Rogers: 42%
Undecided: 14%

Polling is a notoriously fickle science, especially since it’s still early, but this data underscores a fundamental truth: Michigan is a swing state, and swing states have a tendency to...swing. Despite Democrats’ success in recent years, we know it can flip red under the right conditions.

So in light of this new poll, I want to ask if you’ll consider making a $3 contribution to my campaign and NewDems.

$3, because we are in a statistical tie against a Trump-endorsed candidate.

$3, because Democrats only have a 51 seat majority in the U.S. Senate, and with Joe Manchin’s retirement and a likely flip in West Virginia, we need to hold onto this seat for Democrats to retain control of the body.

$3, because our race is the top of the ticket in Michigan — which means what happens will likely have an impact on the presidential race here as well.

$3, because roughly 1 in 6 voters are undecided in our race, and we need to be able to talk to those voters in all 11 of Michigan’s media markets.

I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important, but there are just 4 months left until Election Day and contributions from people like you in response to emails like this represent the bulk of the money we raise — which means your support is critical to getting us over the finish line.
