I’m Leah -- I am an advocate for women, sexual assault survivors, and reproductive rights. And I support Bob Ferguson because he is a champion for women in our state.
Bob is up for re-election this year, and his Republican opponents want to defeat Bob so that he cannot fight President Trump’s cruel and illegal policies. They state “emphatically” that they oppose all lawsuits against the Trump administration that protect our civil rights, and environment -- and my health care.
Bob’s Republican opponents don’t understand (or don’t care) that Bob’s successful legal challenges against Donald Trump (he’s 28-1!) are helping me and countless Washingtonians.
When Donald Trump changed the rules so that my employer would not have to cover my access to birth control, Bob Ferguson stood up to challenge this unlawful, anti-women policy.
Because of Bob, I still have guaranteed access to contraceptives.
When Donald Trump proposed a “gag rule” so that low-income Washington women couldn’t have honest conversations with their doctors about their health care options, Bob was the first attorney general in the country to block that rule nationwide.
And just last week, Bob stopped another unlawful Trump action targeting women’s health care. The federal judge said in his order that the Trump administration exhibited “blatant disregard for the rights of Washington citizens.”
We can’t lose this attorney general who defends our rights.
