My name is Jarrek Holmes, and I am the Horizon Project’s Deep Canvassing Coordinator with the Colorado Democrats. I'm a Colorado native, born and raised in Littleton, and I came back to Colorado to help the community I love during a critical election season.
I wanted to share with you the exciting work we're doing in CD-8 to help re-elect leaders like Congresswoman Yadira Caraveo, Rhonda Solis, and other Democrats in the district who will be on the ballot in November. We hope that you will get involved and help spread the word!

The Horizon Deep Canvassing Project is a partnership between the Colorado Democratic Party and Attorney General Phil Weiser. We started canvassing in March and will continue until Election Day this November.
Why Is Deep Canvassing so important & effective? Deep Canvassing is a form of conversation that builds trust through empathetic listening, deep mutual respect, and connecting emotionally. Through the telling and eliciting of stories, we help voters connect their values with participating in democracy. Studies have shown that this is the most effective way to encourage low-propensity voters to vote.
Deep Canvassing will engage volunteers across the state. Our work will train hundreds of people of all generations who will carry these skills into future elections and work on key issues in the coming years. We hope to build a process that can be repeated election after election.

My experience with deep canvassing has been life-changing. I am continually amazed by the stories I hear from folks at the door. I have heard war stories from veterans, the struggle of being recent immigrants to the U.S., and countless mentions of friends and family that are close to people's hearts.
