The powerful meat lobby is using the COVID-19 crisis as an excuse to kill
millions of animals on farms in horrific ways.

Citing business disruptions related to COVID-19, the National Pork Producers
Council (NPPC) has threatened that their industry might slaughter and discard
baby pigs. In Delaware, a chicken company has already directed farmers to kill
millions of chickens. More members of the National Chicken Council (NCC) may
soon do the same.

[[link removed]]This is unacceptable. But it doesn’t have to be this way. Instead, we are urging
distribution of relief funds from the USDA’s Coronavirus Food Assistance Program
to farmers looking to become a solution to our broken system by transitioning to
plant-based farming.

Use your voice
[[link removed]] to urge the USDA, the NCC, and the NPPC to find long-term, systematic
solutions. Taxpayer dollars should help farmers improve practices, diversify,
and transition to plant-based farming—not slaughter animals en masse.

Thank you for speaking up against mass killing.
