Thunder Basin Coal Company, LLC of Wright, Wyoming has filed a mining permit renewal application with the Land Quality Division of the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality for the mining of coal in Campbell County, Wyoming. The Black Thunder Mine permit area is approximately 12 miles southeast of Wright, Wyoming and 10 miles east of the intersection of WY Highways 59 and 450. The application may be viewed at the Cheyenne or Sheridan District Office of the Land Quality Division. The application will be readvertised for public comment prior to the approval of the Department of Environmental Quality.
