Refugees in Yemen need you more than ever.

Hi John,

Our COVID-19 response team in Yemen is urgently trying to reach more of the most vulnerable children and families. We have over 500 aid workers in Yemen as we speak, and they're working around the clock. But this is a huge emergency, John. We need your help right now.

Please, will you rush a gift to help us contain the coronavirus outbreak in Yemen, and maintain IRC programs worldwide? Your support will help our teams to respond and prevent further spread of the disease — while continuing our life-saving work wherever it's most needed. »

I hope you and your loved ones are staying safe and healthy during this time. Thank you for your continued support of refugees around the world.

Sincerely,

Emily Martin

Subject: ALERT: Yemen has first confirmed case of COVID-19

John,
Last week, Yemen—the world's largest humanitarian crisis—confirmed its first case of COVID-19. This is a nightmare scenario.

Millions of Yemeni families live in cramped and unsanitary areas, vulnerable to contracting the virus. Following five years of brutal conflict, over half of the population is facing severe food shortages and 18 million people don't have access to clean water and sanitation.

Our teams are on the ground in Yemen right now trying to reach the most vulnerable children and families. But we can't do this without your support.

Please, will you donate today to help children in Yemen and refugees worldwide?

A mother named Adeeyah, living in Aden, Yemen, recently told us:

"We've witnessed death. We have escaped shelling by hiding in the roots of the trees, airstrikes above us and rockets in front of us. My children get up at night screaming in fear..."

If we don't act now, Adeeyah and millions of Yemenis will be in even more danger, suffering a double emergency of war and COVID-19. We need to help them before it is too late.

Please, will you rush a gift to help us contain the coronavirus outbreak in Yemen, and maintain IRC programs? You'll help us provide emergency protective gear, virus screenings, hand-washing stations and essentials to combat the disease in addition to maintaining our current programs worldwide.

The IRC has been working in Yemen since 2012. We provide health, nutrition, clean water and sanitation services to over 1 million Yemenis each year. Even today, as restrictions of air and seaports create challenges to our operation, we have been able to send crucial aid to populations.

Our staff of 500+ aid workers in Yemen are in a unique position to help. But it has to be right now.

With the coronavirus, we know acting early makes a big difference in how many lives are saved. In a crisis zone like Yemen, acting early also means preventing another major catastrophe.

Your support will help IRC teams work around the clock to respond and prevent further spread of the disease — while continuing our life-saving programs worldwide.
