When Our Revolution formed out of the Bernie 2016 campaign, we knew
organizing to change the Democratic Party would not be easy. Now,
Democrats are scrambling to figure out what to do next. DNC leadership is
ignoring real concerns with Biden while some elected Democrats in Congress
are calling for a serious conversation about who the nominee should be.
Even Nancy Pelosi expressed concerns about Biden’s debate performance! And
some of Biden’s DNC delegates are considering the possibility that he’s
not the right nominee.

After Biden’s rough debate performance and the Supreme Court’s extreme
right-wing ruling handing “absolute immunity” to the American presidency,
there is a serious threat of Trump becoming a Dictator on Day 1.

We cannot let this moment, and the Democratic Party’s scrambling, distract
us from the ultimate goal these next few months — and that’s keeping
Donald Trump out of the White House.
The reality is, whether Joe Biden is the Democratic candidate or not is
primarily up to Joe Biden. But the reality of whether Donald Trump is the
next President is up to our organizing, our strategy, our Get Out The Vote
operation, and our entire progressive movement.
And we’re having a major impact on this conversation. When Politico
reported on our post-debate survey and that 67% of our respondents want to
see Joe Biden step aside, the Democratic Party saw that. The Party knows
their coalition to win in November is shaky and that the Progressive vote
is crucial.
We need to ramp up our organizing right now, and we need our grassroots
donors to pitch in today. The summer months are notoriously difficult for
fundraising, but it’s the time we’ll need your small-dollar contributions
the most as we prepare for November.
