As one of our top supporters, we want to make sure you have the scoop on Gov. Kemp’s work and what’s happening on the ground in Georgia! The Kemp family wishes everyone a happy and safe holiday weekend!
During this Independence Day weekend, we celebrate the freedoms our great nation was founded on 248 years ago, and honor the brave men and women who protect them.
We are blessed to live and work in the greatest country on earth. 🇺🇸
This week began a new fiscal year in Georgia, and thanks to Governor Kemp’s leadership, hardworking Georgians will see more tax relief, pay raises for law enforcement and teachers, and more.
Read more about the new laws below:
2024 FISCAL BUDGET HB 916
Georgia’s budget for this new fiscal year provides important raises for those who serve their fellow Georgians. It also ensures critical resources to improve education and public safety in our state, all while ensuring we remain fiscally responsible.
ACCELERATING INCOME TAX REDUCTION HB 1015
The historic accelerated income tax cut bill is in effect. Speeding up this reduction makes the rate for tax Year 2024 just 5.39% -- a total decrease of 36 basis points this year.
LOWERING THE CORPORATE INCOME TAX HB 1023
This bill lowers the corporate income tax rate to match the individual income tax rate, furthering our state’s commitment to promoting opportunity and good paying jobs.
GEORGIA HIGH DEMAND CAREER LIST HB 984
The formation of the Georgia High Demand Career List creates clarity among educators and workforce developers, so we can better equip those entering the job market with skills needed for success.
MENTAL HEALTH & HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS LOAN REPAYMENT SB 480 & HB 872
This legislation creates student loan repayments for mental health and substance use professionals serving underserved youth. We’re also expanding service cancelable loans for healthcare professionals to dental students who agree to practice in rural areas.
AMENDING THE REACH SCHOLARSHIP HB 970
This amendment to the REACH scholarship ensures that victims of human trafficking receive access to this resource, providing greater opportunity for a brighter future.
GEORGIA PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP ACT SB 233
By taking an all-of-the above approach to education opportunities and creating the Georgia Promise Scholarship, underserved students will now have greater choice over how and where they receive their education.
HUMAN TRAFFICKING HOTLINE INFORMATION SB 370
Under this new law championed by First Lady Marty Kemp, human trafficking notices will now be visible in more places of business while law enforcement also takes the fight to illegal massage parlors.
TRAFFIC ACT SB 10
This act keeps our communities safe by increasing penalties for illegal drag racing -- a serious danger to pedestrians and other drivers.
CERTIFIED NURSING AID ACT SB 449
This act expands certification opportunities to ensure Georgia’s medical military personnel receive the support they need and to further grow our nursing workforce.
This week, Governor Kemp made it clear that he will always fight to secure our border!
He stands with Governor Abbott and Texas — as well as our service members, including the Georgia National Guard, who are holding the line at the border to keep Americans safe.
More than 35 years ago, I started my first business with nothing but a pickup truck and a shovel.
Since taking office as Governor of Georgia in 2019, I’ve put hardworking Georgians and their families first!
We’ve championed legislation to cut taxes for working families, crack down on crime, end human trafficking, reform foster care and adoption, and support our students and educators.
When Georgia became the first state to reopen during the COVID-19 pandemic, I made sure we protected both lives and livelihoods. As a result, we’ve seen historic economic investment, and we’ve continued to lead the way in creating opportunities at every corner of the state.
And we’re not stopping there!
Marty, the girls, and I are working hard to ensure Georgia’s best days are ahead of us.
