MAGA gubernatorial hopeful spews ugly, hateful rant: "Some folks need killing!"
Mark Robinson, the radical, right-wing GOP nominee for governor in North Carolina with a long history of incendiary comments, somehow managed to find a new low during a recent public rant (in church, of course). Speaking to congregants at Lake Church in White Lake, North Carolina, Robinson, the state's lieutenant governor, did not mince his words: "Some folks need killing! It’s time for somebody to say it. It’s not a matter of vengeance. It’s not a matter of being mean or spiteful. It’s a matter of necessity!" And, of course, the arbiter of who deserves to be killed and who does the killing falls to, wouldn't you know it, MAGA blowhards like Mark Robinson. Choose wisely in November, North Carolina. [RETWEET THAT!]

Democratic Sen. Mark Warner reportedly seeking Biden's exit from presidential race
Virginia's Mark Warner is attempting to assemble a group of Democratic senators to ask Joe Biden to exit the presidential race after last week's debate performance, The Washington Post reported on Friday, citing two unidentified people with knowledge of the effort. Warner, the chair of the Senate Intelligence Committee, earlier this week was contacting Democratic senators about a possible meeting on Monday to discuss Biden's campaign, a source familiar told Reuters on Friday. Biden has been scrambling to defuse the ongoing political crisis over his shaky debate performance and has maintained thus far that he is staying in the race. Warner has not commented publicly on Biden's debate performance, and no sitting Democratic senator has publicly called for Biden to step aside.

Supreme Court pulls ABSURD stunt for Trump
No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen: Unreal.
Allies of Donald Trump are pushing for the first nuclear tests in three decades
The disgraced ex-president has repeatedly claimed that a third World War is imminent, and that what he calls “the n-word” — nuclear war — poses a bigger threat to the planet than the climate crisis. The convicted felon's allies are now suggesting that, if elected, Trump should restart underground nuclear weapons testing, a practice that the US thankfully gave up more than 30 years ago, and if resumed would likely fuel a global arms race in a volatile political moment. There is, quite simply, no off position to MAGA world's stupid switch.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr. promises to not "take sides" with respect to 9/11 if elected president
Anti-vax nut job and apparent BBQ dog connoisseur Robert F. Kennedy Jr. has made a startling and utterly ridiculous pledge to not "take sides" with respect to the September 11 terrorist attacks if his long-shot presidential campaign incomprehensibly vaults him to the White House. "My take on 9/11: It’s hard to tell what is a conspiracy theory and what isn't. But conspiracy theories flourish when the government routinely lies to the public," Kennedy wrote on Friday in a post on nüTwitter in reference to the deadliest terrorist attack ever aimed at the US. “As president I won't take sides on 9/11 or any of the other debates. Lucky for us, we won't have to hold Robert to his word. He won't get anywhere near 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
Biden should undergo "detailed cognitive and movement disorder testing," Dr. Sanjay Gupta says
Neurosurgeon Sanjay Gupta, CNN’s chief medical correspondent, wrote in a piece published Friday that he and several medical colleagues had observed concerning signs during President Biden’s debate with convicted felon Donald Trump that merit a closer look at Biden’s health. Gupta said the symptoms he saw include the president's halting speech, quiet voice, slack-jawed appearance, and inability to finish some sentences while on the debate stage. Gupta added that the current level of information disclosed about Biden’s health is not sufficient to make a diagnosis from afar. But — after a “concerning” performance at the debate — Gupta and other brain doctors concurred that the president should receive a detailed examination of his judgment, memory, and other risk factors.
Biden "completely" rules out exiting 2024 presidential race amid pressure for him to quit
President Biden on Friday said he won't consider standing down from his campaign for a second term in the White House despite growing pressure from him to do so from Democratic members of Congress and donors to his party. Biden told reporters traveling with him in Wisconsin he was “completely ruling that out” during a brief exchange with the press after he finished taping an interview with ABC anchor George Stephanopoulos that aired Friday evening. Pressed on why he still thinks he is the best candidate to defeat the MAGA cult leader despite his dismal showing against his predecessor in last week’s CNN presidential debate, Biden replied: “I did it before,” referring to his 2020 election victory over the twice-impeached, convicted felon.
