the spread of coronavirus? Wash your hands.

But what if you don’t have clean, running water in your home?

Did you know that two million people in our country lack access to running
water, indoor plumbing or wastewater treatment? Without clean water, washing
hands and preparing meals at home becomes a major challenge – and a health risk.

At American Rivers we believe everyone, everywhere, deserves clean water and a
healthy river (because two-thirds of our drinking water comes from rivers).
That’s why we’re calling on Congress, for the duration of this pandemic
emergency, to create a moratorium on water shut-offs for households that can’t
afford their water bills, and to restore water in homes where water was turned
off before the pandemic. We're also urging decision-makers to increase
investments in innovative water infrastructure nationwide – especially for those
communities most in need.

Support clean water for all in this time of crisis, and always.

Clean water and healthy rivers are vital to life. As we endure this
unprecedented crisis, our actions now will define our future. We have a chance
to better protect the health of our families and our neighbors. We have a chance
to build stronger communities.

That chance starts with something profoundly simple, yet incredibly powerful:
clean water. Will you help us?
