Tell the Taliban, I SURVIVED.
This is Army CPT Sam Brown. In 2008 the Taliban set an ambush for my team and
I.
My humvee hit a roadside bomb and we were plunged into battle.
I was immediately drenched in diesel and doused in flames.
While bullets were whizzing past him, my gunner put out the flames covering my
body.
10 more seconds of burning, and I wouldn’t be writing this message.
By the grace of God and my gunner's bravery, I made it through.
But not without some scars, as you may be able to tell (that’s me in the
picture).
It’s true that I sacrificed a great deal in service to my country. But it’s
nothing compared to those who made the ULTIMATE sacrifice and never came home.
Look, Friend, I want to level with you.
