Hi John,

I wanted to make sure you saw Eliza’s last email about OLCV’s first ever art contest! Personally I’m excited to try out my artistic hand, even though I'm not an artist by any means, so that we can show our Senators how important the Owyhee Canyonlands are to us. You do not need to be an artist to make a statement and join the movement in calling for the permanent protection of the Owyhee Canyonlands. Don’t miss this opportunity to have your work presented to Senator Wyden!

The deadline for submissions is Labor Day, Monday September 2nd. Submissions are open to anyone of any age and skill level, from anywhere.

Submit your artwork by:

  1. Post your artwork on social media and use the hashtag #ProtectTheOwyhee and tag OLCV! (Twitter: @olcv | Facebook: @oregonlcv | Instagram: @olcv)
  2. Use this google form to upload your artwork and we will share it on social media for you

Join me in getting creative for the Owyhee this summer!

Sincerely,
Sarah Kline

Hi John,

It’s time to get creative for the Owyhee this summer. In our efforts to show our Senators how much a national monument for the Owyhee Canyonlands means to us, we are starting an Owyhee art contest! This contest is open to anyone of any skill level and age. We accept any form of art as well, whether painting, drawing, or poetry. You are not required to live in Oregon to enter, as we recognize that anyone can appreciate the Owyhee Canyonlands. There will be two categories for winners, one for youth (under 18) and one for adults (over 18). Both of the winning pieces will be presented to Senator Wyden, in addition to being featured on our website.

Ready to submit? Take a photo of your artwork and submit it one of these two ways:

  1. Post your artwork on social media and use the hashtag #ProtectTheOwyhee and tag OLCV! (Twitter: @olcv | Facebook: @oregonlcv | Instagram: @olcv)
  2. Use this google form to upload your artwork and we will share it on social media for you

In order to be eligible to win, you must share your name and date of birth. It is optional, but greatly welcomed, to share where you are from. Either way you choose to submit, you are encouraged to share about your artwork and tell us what the Owyhee Canyonlands mean to you - although it is not required to enter. The deadline for submissions is Monday, September 2nd, and the winner will be announced shortly after.

Don’t miss this opportunity to create fun art for a magical place and show our Senators how much we want to protect the Owyhee Canyonlands! I’m excited to see what you create.

Sincerely,
Eliza Walton
