It’s starting.
Just a couple months ago, a new right-wing Super PAC got off the ground. Its mission: targeting me for defeat this year and boosting one of my GOP opponents. It’s got ties to the Trump administration, Mitch McConnell, and powerful corporate interests — from Big Oil to Big Pharma to the big banks.
And they recently disclosed spending tens of thousands of dollars on digital ads — with those ads run by a company that’s worked with Nikki Haley, the House GOP’s campaign arm, and Republican House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (the guy who once called himself “David Duke without the baggage”).
Look: defeating us in Massachusetts would virtually guarantee a GOP-controlled Senate. And national Republicans are desperate to take power so they can enact their radical agenda, from banning abortion nationwide to slashing taxes for billionaires and giant corporations.
We have to fight back.

It’s no secret that big corporations use Super PACs to elect Republicans who’ll keep their taxes low and their regulations light.
And it’s no secret that big corporations — along with other powerful right-wing interests — use Super PACs to defeat Democrats who are fighting to put power in the hands of working people.
So in the long run, to make our country work not just for a thin slice at the tippy-top but for everyone, we’ve got to overturn Citizens United and enact sweeping anti-corruption legislation (yes, I’ve got a plan for that).
But for now, we’ve got to shore up our defenses against Super PAC spending and anything else the far right throws at us.
Together, we’ll keep working to stop big money from drowning out the voices of working families. But our grassroots fundraising model only works if everyone keeps pitching in whatever they can, whenever they can.
Thanks for being a part of this,
Elizabeth
