Keeping teens safe at work this summer
Summer is here and many teens may be looking for employment. Before hiring young workers, employers should review the state's child labor laws [ [link removed] ]. This includes laws about working hours and hazardous work restrictions that vary based on the employee's age.

Save the date: Workplace provisions supporting lactating, nursing families webinar
DLI's Labor Standards Division is providing a series of webinars to help workers and employers better understand the state's wage and hour laws.

MNOSHA fatality, serious-injury investigation summaries online
Each month, Minnesota OSHA (MNOSHA) Compliance publishes current, updated summaries of its fatality investigations and serious-injury investigations.
For the federal-fiscal-year that began Oct. 1, 2023, MNOSHA has investigated 16 fatalities through July 1.
The information provided about each investigation is: the inspection number, date of incident and worksite city; the type of business and number of employees; a description of the event; and the outcome of the MNOSHA Compliance investigation.
