Dear John,
Over the past six moths, we've been working with Let's End Poverty and partners to engage with our candidates ahead of the General Election. In this email, we thought we'd share some of the things we've achieved together.
How have we engaged with our candidates?
There were over 330 people signed up, pledging to demand action to end poverty at this Election. Together, we committed to taking action in a whole range of ways including...
We've emailed our candidates
In total, 7444 email conversations have been started with candidates standing at the Election Christians Against Poverty, The Big Issue and Let’s End Poverty.
Together, we've reached over 80% of constituencies.

Asked questions at hustings events
We've also been asking questions at hustings events across the UK, putting ending poverty on the agenda of all your candidates.
Spoken to campaigners on doorsteps
Many people have used the Let's End Poverty door hanger to ask candidates and campaigners about their plans to tackle poverty on the doorstep.
Some Candidate Responses
Let's End Poverty noted that there were lots of candidates who care about poverty. Here are just some of the responses people have had from their candidates...
“I completely agree with you that poverty is stealing dignity and hope for millions of people across the UK”
“If elected I can assure you that I will convert these easy to write words into strong and significant action against poverty both in this city and at Westminster.”
“I firmly believe that those with lived experience of poverty hold essential insights that must guide our policies and actions.”
We've been listening to people with lived experience of poverty
Let's End Poverty set up online gatherings to hear from people on the frontime of poverty
We explored what people struggling against poverty every day need our next government to prioritise, and made sure that lived experience is at the heart of our action as a movemen
We've been listening to Neighbourhood voices
Some of our amazing staff members at Church Action on Poverty have travelled across the country to listen to people in their communities.

We've been creative
Many communities wanted to get involved in different and creative ways. Here are just some of the stories from across the Let's End Poverty Network:
Dreams and Realities
An art exhibition exposing the struggles and hopes of the members of Camden and Islington NHS Choir.
"It’s people lives we’re dealing with, their lives and their circumstances and their extreme need to survive and get by on the little they have.”
Webs of Poverty
The Huddersfield Methodist Circuit Craftivism Group displayed their interactive ‘Webs of Poverty’ display at Hustings across the area. The project sees to explore and challenge poverty in its broadest sense – through conversation, sharing information and learning from those with lived experience.
Let's End Poverty Banners
Over 50 Let's End Poverty banners have been ordered with Let's End Poverty, and lots more printed at local businesses across the UK.
But we're not stopping here...
Let's End Poverty will be announcing what their post-election action is soon!
Best wishes, Jessica ClarkOn behalf of Church Action on Poverty
