Second Whistleblower at Texas Children's Hospital Faces Federal Retaliation |
by Joshua Arnold |
Ronald Reagan was wrong. "I'm from the government, and I'm here to help" are not the nine most terrifying words in the English language. That dubious distinction goes to these nine words: "We're from the FBI. We know what you believe." These words cast a pallor over a previously cheery day. It can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time, for one primary reason: threatening progressive orthodoxy on abortion and trans ideology. Or so they want you to think. |

Biden Admin's 'Emergency Abortion' Letter Considers Abortion a 'Stabilizing Treatment' |
by Sarah Holliday |
Last month, the U.S. Supreme Court issued a temporary order ruling that, despite Idaho's efforts toward protecting the unborn, the state must allow expecting mothers access to "emergency abortions" in cases where health is compromised. On Tuesday, in step with the SCOTUS ruling, the Biden administration released an "Emergency Abortion" letter arguing that hospitals should be able to terminate pre-born babies. This letter, which was sent to various medical professionals, portrayed abortion as a "stabilizing treatment" no woman should "be denied." |

by Victoria Marshall |
A federal judge in Kansas has temporarily blocked the Biden administration's Title IX rewrite to four more states on Tuesday, making this the third federal court to strike down the rule. U.S. District Judge John Broomes granted a preliminary injunction prohibiting the Department of Education from enforcing its rewrite of Title IX, which expands the definition of sex discrimination to include gender identity, to schools in Kansas, Alaska, Utah, and Wyoming. |

First Homeland Is Family |
by Yoe Suarez |
August 23 is a kind of Independence Day for my family and me. That date in 2022 is something like the 4th of July for the American nation. It does not have the same implications, I know, for a country to sign its Declaration of Independence from the British Empire, as it does for a couple and their child to disembark on a Havana-Miami flight to request political asylum. But after almost a decade doing journalism inside the totalitarian Cuban State where I experienced arrests and threats of jail and death, it felt like fresh air on my face, like Washington crossing the Delaware River. |

Rightly Ordered Patriotism Is Not Christian Nationalism |
by David Closson |
Over the last few years, the term "Christian nationalism" has received outsized attention in American political discourse. Although the phrase was bandied about before the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol back in 2021, the last few years have witnessed a torrent of opinion pieces, books, round table discussions, and even professionally produced documentaries about the topic. Though the debate now seems to be tapering off, recent developments in Oklahoma and Louisiana have triggered a new round of opinion pieces about the dangers of theocracy. |

'Reclaim Our Nation': Tennessee Declares July a Month of Prayer and Fasting after Pride Month |
by Ben Johnson |
The state of Tennessee has called its citizens to spend the month of July in prayer and fasting as a way to "reclaim our nation" after Pride Month, ask that "the Holy Spirit fill our halls of government," and renew our nation in God's image and likeness. The resolution asks God to deliver the state and our nation "from violence committed upon our citizens by non-citizens," as well as "human trafficking," "deadly fentanyl" sales, family breakdown, and "corruption in our federal government." |

Could the Israel-Hamas War 'Escalate Dramatically'? |
by Sarah Holliday |
In the wake of a roughly nine-month long war, Israel continues to fight for its survival against the terrorist group Hamas. But as time marches on and the war moves through Rafah and to the north, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue to fight against Hamas and other terrorist organizations such as Hezbollah. While Israeli officials have reported that they're making progress in eliminating Hamas, they've also announced "that escaped Hamas terrorists remain a threat throughout the region," as "Washington Watch" guest host Jody Hice explained on Tuesday's episode. |

Louisiana Now Requires the Ten Commandments to Be Displayed in Schools. Why Are So Many Offended? |
by Kathy Athearn |
Last month, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry (R) signed HB 71, which mandates that all public schools display the Ten Commandments in their classrooms. While many Louisianans and Americans are celebrating this monumental action, many on the Left and in the media are outraged, claiming that this is a violation of the separation of church and state by forcing religion on a captive childhood audience. |
