We don’t have much time. Pretty soon, U.S. Representative Gregory Meeks and Senator Ben Cardin will notify Congress of yet another multi-billion dollar weapons sale to Israel, including 50 F-15 fighter jets worth $18 billion. Congress can stop this by filing something called a joint resolution of disapproval (JRD), but they only have 15 days after being notified to block this murderous arms sale — so we need to act fast!

The Israeli military uses F-15 fighter jets to bomb Gaza, and their current genocidal campaign would not be possible without American-made weapons. The United Nations recently warned that “states and companies must end arms transfers to Israel immediately or risk responsibility for human rights violations.” According to an Amnesty International report from April of 2024, weapons made explicitly in the U.S. were used by Israel to violate both international and U.S. law. The U.S. government must at least have an interest in NOT being charged with international war crimes, right? Let’s remind them what’s at stake here.

Passing this arms sale will be detrimental to the entire world. The U.S. and Israel’s limitless violence has us on the brink of a full-scale regional war as Israel increases threats on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Hezbollah made it clear that they will not stop their attacks until there is a ceasefire in Gaza. The U.S. can immediately thwart the looming risk of regional violence exploding by ending weapons sales to Israel and stopping the genocide. While the American people struggle with the rising cost of living, our government services weapons companies and the Israeli government by signing billions of dollars away for murder. So, why is Congress working for them while ignoring the demands of their constituencies, along with the rest of the world, who have been begging for a ceasefire and the cessation of arms sales to Israel? Undeniably, they have the same imperialist goals. We need to act fast for the people of Gaza. Demand Congress supports a JRD opposing Congressmen Meeks and Cardin’s multi-billion dollar arms sale to Israel!
