Here’s our low down of the election results

Hi John,

We finally have the results of this long awaited election. Here’s our roundup and what it means for the radical and far right across the UK.

Thanks to this amazing community, our campaign delivered nearly 50,000 leaflets, over 30,000 direct mail letters, and social media adverts that reached over 1 million people - all in the six week campaign. Without this effort, this election's results could have been very different.

So let's start with the good news:

George Galloway Loses: The leader of the Workers Party, and prolific homophobe, transphobe and racist has lost his seat in Rochdale. Regular leafleting sessions here helped spread the news that George Galloway isn’t the anti-elite hero that some people make him out to be.

Reform UK Gains Limited: Despite their expectation, Reform UK won 4 seats, far fewer than they had been predicted in the Exit poll and would have wanted. Our proactive leafleting and campaign efforts, alongside exposes of their worst candidates, undermined their campaign from the get go and led to multiple candidates being dropped for extreme and far right views.

Radical Right Conservative Losses: Figures on the radical right like Steve Baker, Miriam Cates and Mark Jenkinson all lost their seats. These MPs were spreading climate denialism, transphobia and hate, and we’re glad to see them go.

The bad news:

Nigel Farage Wins in Clacton: Despite our best efforts and delivering over 10,000 leaflets across the constituency. Farage’s win will give him an even bigger platform to spout hate and spread his brand of far-right politics.

Lee Anderson Re-elected in Ashfield: He was one of the most toxic members of the last Parliament and his win is terrible news for the people of Ashfield.

Reform UK gain seats: Despite our efforts, Reform UK secured seats in Great Yarmouth and Boston and Skegness. The late announcement of Farage’s candidacy limited our response. Additionally, Reform came second in 98 seats, signaling their growing influence despite fewer wins than expected.

Radical Right Conservatives Remain: Kemi Badenoch, Suella Braverman and Priti Patel are likely to be in the running for the Conservative leadership, and will try to shape the party in their image.

The ugly news:

Conservative Leadership Race: The Conservatives will search for a new leader, likely from the radical right. We will watch this race closely for members of the party’s radical right and respond as we know more.

Labour Majority and Far-Right Surge: A huge majority for the Labour Party is likely to embolden and encourage the far right. Historically, the far right is more active when left wing Governments in power. But we are ready for this surge.

What’s next?

We know we have a big job ahead of us in order to roll back the Reform surge. We have big plans to maintain momentum and hold radical right politicians accountable. While we deliver these plans, please join us today and help create a more hopeful UK over the next five years.
