John,
I don’t know about you, but I’m angry. I can’t stop thinking about how the Trump administration is failing in its basic responsibility to protect us.
While millions of us across the country are sacrificing to fight the pandemic, essential workers are on the front lines risking their lives, and we’re all doing our part to keep each other safe, Trump is hard at work gutting basic protections for public health and safety, and giving handouts to fossil fuel billionaires so they can pollute with impunity for years to come.
But Food & Water Action is staying focused and fighting back. We’ve been standing in Trump’s way at every step. Keeping up this long fight against greed and corruption has taken support from people across the country — and many resources. But if we keep working together, I know we will win.
All of our members are doing everything they can to keep fossil fuel billionaires’ greedy hands off taxpayer pandemic relief. And one generous member has decided to match dollar-for-dollar every new monthly gift made during this membership drive, up to $55,000, until the end of the year.
Will you start your monthly gift right now to help protect our food, water and planet for months and years to come?

One of the most powerful things you can do is to join us as a regular monthly giving Action Partner. Your monthly commitment, when added together with those of our other Action Partners, provides the ongoing resources we need to fight back and win.
On every front, Trump and his cronies have waged a war on climate and science. But we saw what was happening, created plans and immediately started fighting back. This is a fight I know you believe in, and we do too — and it’s a fight we can win. Right now, we’re fighting on four specific fronts:
We’re mobilizing tens of thousands of people to block bailouts for Trump’s fracking friends, as they try to divert coronavirus relief from the American people into their own pockets.
We're organizing to continue stopping dangerous water shutoffs. To date, we’ve kept the water on in more than 12 states and more than 500 localities. So far, our work has protected 186 million people, making sure they have access to clean water so they can wash their hands and care for their families. But there’s so much more to do — we’re asking governors in every state to stop all water shutoffs during the pandemic.
We’re preparing a major legal fight to stop Trump’s so-called Council on Environmental Quality from gutting the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), one of the most significant legal tools we have to combat climate change. Trump wants to prohibit federal agencies from even considering climate change when they review federal projects — but we will be standing in his way and using the courts to thwart this short-sighted plan.
We’re mobilizing people to stop Trump’s USDA from cynically using the pandemic as a distraction to let it strip away basic health and safety protections like effective federal food inspections.
