Due to the economic side effects of the COVID-19 crisis, a likely 3.5 million Americans have lost their employer-provided health insurance. What these folks need now is a re-opened enrollment period on HealthCare.gov, so they can get covered under the Affordable Care Act.
I firmly believe that no one should be forced to weather this health crisis uninsured. President Trump, however, is refusing to open the enrollment window.
That's why I'm asking you to co-sign my petition, which demands our President create a special sign-up option for folks who've recently lost their jobs. Will you stand with me by signing on?
According to a recent poll, 50% of Americans support re-opening the enrollment window, while only 30% do not.
Helping recently unemployed folks get quality health insurance is just one simple step President Trump could take to make the American people feel more at ease during this precarious time.
