Aaron Rouse

John, it’s Aaron Rouse –

July 4th is a day for appreciation and reflection. So while we enjoy family, food, and fireworks, I’m also asking us to remember the sacrifices of those who gave their lives to achieve the freedoms we enjoy – and to honor their legacy by continuing that work today. We must also remain committed to preserving our democracy in the face of all threats, no matter what form they may take.

One of the cornerstones of the American promise is opportunity. The opportunity to get a decent education, to keep a good-paying job, and to build a life with community, dignity, and respect.

I first ran for office because I saw that the promise of America was falling short for members of our community who were left behind. That’s why my run for Lieutenant Governor is about expanding opportunities for everyone in Virginia, no matter where they come from. Those opportunities brought me to Virginia Tech on a full-ride scholarship, the NFL, State Senate, and now running for Lieutenant Governor.

The promise of America depends on leadership to uphold it. It also takes the collective effort of the community to bring about positive change that will last generations. This July 4th, I thank God for this country, for my opportunity to serve it, and for our Commonwealth for entrusting me to continue that work.

Thank you,

Aaron Rouse

A NEW GENERATION OF LEADERSHIP FOR VIRGINIA.

I’m running to be your Lieutenant Governor to build a Virginia where every young person has every opportunity possible to succeed. That’s the kind of Virginia I believe in. That’s the Virginia worth fighting for.
