When did the height of summer become something to dread?

Hello John

This summer has already broken over 1,000 temperature records around the world. And there’s no plan to protect lives or halt the heat.

In 2022, the UK passed 40°C for the first time in recorded history and it’s not getting any cooler. When did the height of summer become something to dread?

On the hottest day of the year people all over the UK will join the Heat Strike. To find out more, join the Zoom call this Wednesday 10th July at 7pm.

This event is hosted by Heat Strike and supported by XRUK.

What is Heat Strike? It is a coalition of organisations that will put pressure on politicians and workplaces to protect the lives of workers and vulnerable people in the face of extreme heat.

Join the online information session to learn about more about the different ways you or your local group could get involved, from banner drops to cool stations.

This might not feel like the week to talk about hot temperatures! But if we wait until we’re melting to start to mobilise, we will miss our mark.

Love and Rebellion,
XR UK
