Hey there — Happy Independence Day!

I hope you’re enjoying the day and can grab a hot dog or burger off the grill before the day is over. 🌭

I just wanted to slide into your inbox and show you one of my favorite moments of bipartisanship to date. Recently I participated in my second Congressional Women’s Softball Game, and can honestly say it was a blast.

Every year, women on both sides of the aisle from both our House and Senate come together to raise money for women fighting breast cancer in a real moment of bipartisanship.

Just know, that whether I’m on the diamond or on the House floor, I’ll always go to bat for the people of the 13th District. The Bad News Babes may have taken the win in this year’s contest, but with this team of grassroots support, I know we’re always batting 1.000.

Last month you helped us take our goal yard and hit it out the park — but we’re not out of the inning just yet. Pitch in right now to help me keep swinging and going to bat for families across the 13th District. [[link removed]]

The game of softball was created right here in Illinois, and I’m proud to be a part of this event every year.

Thanks for all you do. Happy 4th! 🎆
