Today, I’m reminded of how great our democracy is and can be. And I’m reminded of why we fight so hard to defend our democracy. It’s incredible but also fragile, and it takes all of our work and commitment to ensure we can keep it. That’s never been more clear than this week, when we celebrate our independence from a monarchy, and when a majority of the Supreme Court has ruled that a president has the kind of immunity usually reserved for kings, not elected officials.
