Almost 250 years ago, our democracy was born in revolution, and a declaration was heard around the world.

We’ve come a long way since our founders met to start this grand experiment. But make no mistake: we still have a long way to go in the struggle for equality.

So, on this Independence Day, we're recommitting ourselves to working as hard as we can to ensure that our democracy works for everyone—and we’re counting on you to join us.

Will you take a moment to add your name to declare your independence from gerrymandering? [[link removed]]

The best way to celebrate our nation’s founding is to continue the fight to expand its promise of justice, equality, and opportunity for all. That means every voice should count equally in our democracy, and politicians should not be able to manipulate maps to drown out the voices of people who disagree with them.

Since 2017, the NDRC has executed a comprehensive redistricting strategy that shifts the redistricting power, creating fair districts where Democrats can compete. Our victories have been made possible by our strong community of grassroots supporters.
