“As a journalist, I know first-hand how the law can be weaponised against us. Right now, the vital role that journalists play is under attack on every front, all around the globe. I’m delighted to be speaking at Trust Conference this year, a crucial moment to explore topics such as the role of free media in holding power to account, and the need to reign in Big Tech so it uses its power to promote the truth and protect democracy.”

Maria and Kara will join other renowned experts on day one, which will explore topics such as producing news in an AI-driven world, protecting lawyers who defend journalists and combatting disinformation in the year of elections.
