John,

As you prepare to celebrate Independence Day on July 4th, it is important to keep in mind the values and principles this country was founded on.

Strong, independent leaders have ALWAYS made a difference in our nation’s history.

Brave patriots fought and died for our freedom–and created through their sacrifice the greatest model of liberty and democracy the world has ever seen.

Our founding fathers enshrined and forever protected our unassailable rights, and generation upon generation of Americans have carried their legacy onward.

From President Abraham Lincoln during the Civil War to Ronald Reagan at the final stage of the Cold War, truly great leaders have steered our country through adversity while also maintaining decency, independence, and strength.

Now, more than ever, I believe it is absolutely essential to remember what our shared history has taught us–and commit to returning the type of leadership these figures and so many more displayed to Washington.

That’s why I’m asking you to join me. I’m in this Senate race to return strong, principled, and independent leadership to our nation’s capital, and I could use your help .

We must remember that what unites us as Marylanders and as Americans is greater than that which divides us.

With all the chaos, dysfunction, and political division we see in Washington nowadays–this is easy to forget.

This July 4th, please take a minute to reflect on what truly makes our country so special–the freedoms we enjoy, the ideals we strive for, and the brave heroes who defend us.

Thank you,

Governor Larry Hogan

A Personal Message from Governor Larry Hogan:

[link removed]

Hi, it’s Governor Larry Hogan.

When I launched my campaign for the U.S. Senate, I did so with a deep resolve to maintain the leadership style and principles that guided me during my eight years as governor.

Fifty years ago, my father, Maryland Congressman Larry Hogan Sr. made a tough decision. He became the first Republican to come out for the impeachment of President Nixon. He put aside party politics and his own personal considerations and stepped up to do the right thing for Maryland and the nation.

Today, Washington is completely broken because that kind of leadership and willingness to put country over party has become far too rare. But it’s not in my nature to sit back and watch the dysfunction continue without doing what I can to roll up my sleeves and get to work.

I’m under no illusion this will be an easy road. But I’m no stranger to uphill battles, and I know I can’t do it without your support.

I don't aspire to be a United States senator. I don’t need a title and I don’t need a job, but I’m more concerned than ever about the direction of the country and I have become more convinced that I can make a difference by taking the approach and style of leadership I had during my eight years as governor to Washington.

It’s no surprise this mindset has made me a target of the Washington partisans. Despite early polls showing a lead, I know I’m the underdog in this race. And that’s why your support TODAY is so crucial.

So if you can chip in a donation of $25 or more, it will go a long way in helping me continue building a strong campaign.

For eight years, we proved that the toxic politics that divide our nation didn’t need to divide our state, and we got results! Let’s get back to work again and send a message to Washington that will be heard loud and clear across the country!

Will you join me today and help end the dysfunction in Washington?
Thank you,

Larry Hogan
