John,
I hope you are enjoying Independence Day! Today, we come together to celebrate the birth of our nation and the enduring principles of freedom, justice, and democracy that make America great.

On this day in 1776, our founding fathers declared independence, envisioning a country where every individual has the opportunity to pursue life, liberty, and happiness.
As someone who came to America after fleeing danger in Colombia at just 17, these principles are something I hold dear.
As we celebrate with fireworks, parades, and family gatherings, let’s remember to honor the sacrifices of those who have fought for our freedoms and continue to work together to build a more just and inclusive society.
Wishing you and your loved ones a happy and safe Fourth of July!
