Starting in a few hours - accessing sexual healthcare without a parent

Hey John,

Welcome to Week 4 of At-Home Activism! This week, our theme is "Young People Have The Right." During this pandemic especially, young people still have the right to 💊Sexual healthcare, 🏡 Housing, 📝 Being included in Congressional stimulus bills, and 👩🏾‍⚕️ Abortion care.

Can you sign up here to join us for webinars, social media actions, writing to Congress and more this week? This links to registering for today's webinar, but even if you can't attend today, signing up just lets us know you want extra updates and reminders about this week.

Today at 3pm, learn how to access sexual healthcare WITHOUT a parent, as is your RIGHT. You can register for the webinar here, hosted by our very own Becca Thimmesch.

(If you want friends or other students to join as well, be sure to send them this link - http://bit.ly/at-home-activism)

Check out this week's schedule!

MONDAY 3-4pm EST - Young People Have The Right: Accessing Sexual Healthcare Without a Parent (REGISTER HERE)

Advocates for Youth's #FreeThePill Youth Campaign Manager will review state laws regarding minors’ access to sexual healthcare, and how you can get care in this turbulent time. She will also suggest long-term policy solutions to make accessing care even easier, including bringing birth control pills over-the-counter.

TUESDAY - Ending Housing Insecurity and Homelessness in the Time of COVID-19

Activists from our Nevada Youth Activist Alliance on how this moment can galvanize us to fight for the housing policies young people deserve.

WEDNESDAY - Tell Congress to Prioritize Young People in the COVID-19 Relief Package

Congress is preparing a new bill to provide economic relief from the effects of COVID-19, and we're working to ensure they prioritize young people in this bill. Join us in sending a letter to Congress in partnership with other organizations dedicated to young people's sexual and reproductive health and rights. Remember that Congress worked lightning fast to produce a $2 trillion package of legislation to expand unemployment, provide stimulus checks, and more a few weeks ago, but many of those policies didn't even impact young people. We must stop Congress from making the same mistake again.

THURSDAY - Mutual Aid Webinar and Discussion

In this time of great need, several organizations and activists have banded together to create mutual aid programs. We'll discuss how they work, how to start one on your own, and the ones that are gaining the most attention.

FRIDAY - Abortion is Essential Webinar

The young activists on our Abortion Out Loud council are fired up and ready to fight policies that close down abortion clinics and ban abortion. We'll discuss how right-wing zealots are using this pandemic to ban abortion and what we can do to fight back and ensure everyone knows that #AbortionIsEssential.

If any of the above seem exciting to you, be sure to register here for today's webinar so we know you're interested in this week's Young People Have The Right activities.

In solidarity,
